Full Moons   &   Reflections ...........
The last few  weeks  have been taken up with   festivities & family   and not surprisingly much felt ! It has been good to   stop  a while   , rest the shoulders  and simply enjoy getting out into our landscape   where the Full Moon  shone brightly (between lashings of rain I'll not deny !!).
Much was made  of the fact that the  Full Moon  has  not fallen  on 25 Dec  , since 1977.
I don't remember the event   exactly    but I do know  I was on Iona  that  winter  , crisp walks on the ice covered   shoreline   and  a summer  of drought    followed !!!!!!
Today I have strolled  lightly   in the    bright   winter sun on another shore  , amongst the colours of Torridon   -  the strange purple of  the Birch trees against the burnt gold of the hill with their  fresh snow gilded pinnacles. These  birch trees also throwing silver  around to cascade across burns as  they  gush & splash their way to the sea , catching the sun as they go .  The   Cladach  grey of boulder  stones against   glistening seaweeds  awaiting another full tide.  These images   gathered  in my mind's eye for  more  felt work  -( & , like  a sketch book ,  on  my   new, all singing  all picture  taking phone    (( massive learning curves ahead..))  as I try harder to engage with the world  technologically  at  my fingertips! ) Fibre at my finger tips  being my comfort zone &  easier  mode of  communication.

In the run up to Christmas  I was fortunate to have   a steady flow of work   to undertake  , including a Feltscape of Rogie Falls ( between Contin  & Garve ).   Thank you Katie .

2016    looks      fairly busy   from early  January  .So I am  hoping   for  a bit more  relaxation    catching up with neighbours   over the next couple of days !  Looking forward into  the New Year  ~ meeting up  with  old friends  at the Highland Weavers, Spinners & Dyers  in Strathpeffer  on 9 January  .While getting back to the felting table with  new projects   I 'll also be preparing for  a Workshop here in Torridon on 6th  February ,(more details on the events page of  Croft7 website ) .

But for now Mrs Fingal is going to enjoy the fading light  of 2015    & wish you all a very  peaceful   &   fulfilling  2016   ~ go well , go  lightly .....  Slainte   !     agus    Bliadhna mhath   Ur !!
